Sydney to Southport

We sailed Pacha from the CYCA in Sydney to the Gold Coast City Marina for a quick paint job and full replacement of the standing rigging. The trip and the delivery crew was amazing. Thanks to the crew Cordelia Troy, Ethan Murphy and Ryan Eagles. A big thanks also to David Lambourne at David Lambourne Yacht Rigging, Graham Scooter Eaton and the boys at Australian Marine Enterprises for the wonderful burgundy topsides and Marty and the boys at Bradford Marine for all the work below the waterline.

Pacha is a renowned Camper & Nicholson 55 constructed in alloy. Built in Southampton in 1968 for the French building mogul Francis Bouygues she raced for France in the 1969 Admirals Cup . She was sold to the Australian Sir Robert Crichton Brown and moved to Australia where she has been kept ever since at the CYCA. She competed in 10 Sydney to Hobart races, winning the race on her first attempt in 1970. She has cruised and raced the world, has rounded Cape Horn and been through the Panama canal. The ultimate bluewater cruiser and racer. Finished in beautiful Mahogany below with Beech decks. Re-rigged and freshly painted in December 2018. New B&G 4G radar. Multiple B&G chart plotters, communication at sea via Iridium, HF Radio and VHF. Extensive sail wardrobe. Now cruising in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans before heading to Europe.
